Not Feeling Yourself Mentally? (Here is What Could be Causing This)

Have you noticed that you’re not feeling yourself mentally at the moment? There could be a number of reasons for this, and it’s important that you identify the cause so that you can work on changing that. Of course, it’s okay to feel down, as long as you do what you can to get yourself out of this feeling sooner rather than later. In this article, we are going to be taking a look at some of the things that could be causing you to not feel like yourself, so keep reading if you would like to find out more.

The first thing that could be causing this feeling is stress. Nobody likes to be stressed, and even if you don’t notice it overtly, it could be causing you all kinds of problems inside your head. It might make you feel sad, anxious, on edge and even depressed if it is bad enough. If it is stress that’s causing the problem, you need to work out what the cause of the stress is. From there, you will have a solid basis for getting rid of, or cutting back on that aspect of your life. It doesn’t matter what it is, you cannot allow stress to dictate your life and make you feel bad. It’s not the way to live, and you deserve better than that.

Medical Issue

It could be the case that you have a medical issue, and every now and then you find yourself feeling down. While there isn’t much that can be done about this other than to treat the medical issue, you need to remind yourself of a few things. The first is that you are here, you are alive when some other people aren’t. This isn’t supposed to make you feel guilty, it is supposed to give you hope. You are supposed to do everything that you are told to on the website dedicated to your condition and then live your best life.

Of course, it will depend on the condition as to what you can and cannot do. However, for most things you will be able to do whatever you want, even if it is only for a short time or you have to take some extra precautions. Even if you have a medical issue and you’re not feeling yourself, live.

Money Worries

Money worries can take a huge toll on our mental health. You might be worried about how you are going to afford something that you need. You might be worried that you’re not going to be able to make the payments and the house will get taken or the utilities will get shut off. Money worries can be a huge problem, and the best way to deal with them is to set a budget. Work out how much money you are getting in vs how much needs to be paid out and then work out what you have left.

If you can, try to save a little bit of money for a rainy day so that you don’t find yourself in this position again. Also, if you owe money then you might want to think about calling the companies that you owe and setting up a payment plan with them. They are likely to agree to this seeing as you are the one who went to them, and they want their money back.

Relationship Issues

If your relationship isn’t going very well, this can be causing you a lot of grief. You want things to work out well, but sometimes it doesn’t feel like it can, either because you can’t communicate, or simply because it doesn’t work. This can really do a number on your brain, especially if you love the person that you are with right now. The thing that you need to decide is whether or not it is worth all of this. Is it worth feeling bad every now and then? Is it worth all of the problems that you have, simply because you love them? For some people, yes, love is always enough no matter what the issue is or how bad one of you feels. For others, it’s not enough, and you need to decide where you fall on that scale.

It might be the case that you have a lot of obligations that you would rather not do but have no choice. This happens to everyone at some point, and it can impact mental health sure. You may find yourself feeling dread at the thought of leaving your house, or simply panicking every time that you head to another event you’re supposed to be taking part in. Obligations that you don’t want to go to and wish you could get out of are the worst kind, and this can be taking quite a heavy toll on you if you are doing it all the time.

Your Job

Finally, your job might be the thing that is causing you not to feel yourself. Sometimes things change, and you end up doing things that you have never done before. Sometimes this will be something that you are good at, sometimes not. Sometimes you will be completely okay doing anything, and other times you question whether that is something you are willing to do. When this happens, we suggest that you talk to your boss nicely, and tell them how you feel. It’s okay to talk about what goes on inside your mind and that you are not always feeling yourself mentally.

We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now see some of the things that could be causing you to not feel yourself mentally. It’s difficult when this happens, as you are forced to try and figure out the issue, even if you’re not sure where to start. Hopefully now, you have a few ideas as to what the cause could be though. We wish you the very best of luck getting back to feeling yourself.
